NEW YORK — Evangelist Alveda King, full-time director of Civil Rights for the Unborn (the African-American Outreach of Priests for Life), will speak at a pro-life convention tomorrow on Long Island and will be a grand marshal for the International Gift of Life Walk Saturday in Manhattan.
The convention, called Bringing America Back to Life – New York, will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale. Ms. King is slated to speak at 4 p.m.
At the International Gift of Life Walk on Saturday, Ms. King will share grand marshal duties with Chris Slattery of Expectant Mother Care in Manhattan, and Timothy Jaccard of the AMT Children of Hope Foundation.
Participants will gather at 8 a.m. in Foley Square at Lafayette and Worth streets in lower Manhattan. At 9 a.m. the march will proceed from Foley Square to Stone Street and Broadway.
“We really do need to bring America back to life and I am especially happy to be able to proclaim that message in New York,” Ms. King said. “In New York City, African-American babies are more likely to be aborted than born and the state government has considered making assisted suicide legal. It’s my hope that everyone in New York who understands that life is sacred from conception to natural death will march with me.”
